From the recording They're Coming For You
The latest release from Kelli Debbs follows her sophomore album, Baby Steps. It will be one of three songs released in 2017. The song showcases her continued growth and attention to songwriting. The Nashville-style guitar part paves the way for a passion-packed song that builds into an anthem of lost love and remembering someone everywhere you go. She teamed up with Dan McMains and Eric Sampson of Wildflower Recorders, also members of her band, to produce this single. Drums were played by Wesley Hall and bass by Gregg Cash.
Lyrics
When I walk these streets you’re everywhere
And every part of me has been left there
And when I think of you it’s not with me
And even though it’s hard it’s how it should be
Cause I been holding on to hope
And hope’s been letting me down
And I got nothing left to hold on to, not in this town
Gonna pack my bags, take the pictures down
I can’t look at them cause we were different then
So I’m headed home and I’m switching towns
And I’m moving on and I’m moving out
Cause I been holding on to hope
And hope’s been letting me down
And I got nothing left to hold on to, not in this town
And I’m not putting hate where love should be
I want to look back and think of you fondly
Cause I been holding on to hope
And hope’s been letting me down
And I got nothing left to hold on to, not in this town
